Capt. Peter van Leeuwen Memorial Endowed SST Scholarship Fund

To celebrate and memorialize the life of Capt Peter van Leeuwen, his family and friends are establishing the Capt. Peter van Leeuwen Memorial Endowed Summer Sea Term Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is established to benefit a student studying at SUNY Maritime College who has demonstrated financial need, character and leadership skills that improve society and show compassion for others, as illustrated by “giving back” to their community in meaningful ways. Candidates must be enrolled in an academic program that is in pursuit of a U.S. Coast Guard License, and have clear intention of pursuing a career on the water.

Scholarship may be forfeited if the student:
Does not participate in summer sea term
Is found guilty of academic dishonesty, violates the College’s Student Code of Conduct, and/or is not in good standing with the Regiment.
