MCAA - Class of 1983 SST Scholarship

Maritime College Alumni Association SST Scholarships are awarded in recognition of good scholastic performance, conduct and dedication to the traditions and values of the Fort Schuyler education. Your SST scholarship is being awarded through the collective generosity of the Alumni Class of 1983. This year’s scholarship is given in memory of our deceased classmate, naval officer Lt. James D. Hicks, originally from Staten Island. Jim trained as a fighter pilot and served aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga in the Mediterranean Sea, participating in the United States action against Libya. He was tragically killed on a training mission in Stumpy Point, North Carolina on May 20, 1987.
